Captain Ervine’s last two lines summarize what the sport is all about. Zimbabwe had zero chance before the game, especially against Pakistan, who was in a funk after their victory over India at the MCG. The Zimbabwe team did well in patches, but they somehow passed the “panic test” when it mattered – an age-old problem that has plagued minnows and lower-ranked teams for decades.
The West took us to the top of our game with back-to-back lopsided matches earlier today at the SCG. We’ve been extremely fortunate to work alongside Sagar Chawla, Nikhil Jadhav, and Praveen Kumar to bring you all the action. Raju Peethala says goodbye until tomorrow at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, hoping the weather will improve. Thanks a lot!
The Zimbabwean team will bat first. Ervine said that the same game was playing across the wicket. Ervine should keep Pakistan under pressure by scoring a decent score. They need to prepare for the pace attack. Babar Azam said I would have bowled first if I had won the toss. I’m ready to take advantage of the quick swing. Wasim is playing in place of Asif Ali.

It was important to me to bat at the end and come out of the situation successfully. We don’t have any senior players, so we don’t have any extra pressure. It is always our goal and objective to play our best XI. In the next match, I hope to score more runs. Our fans were great; thank you for watching.

At halfway, we would have taken 130 runs. Our batting performance disappointed me greatly. Both openers got out during the powerplay, despite us having good batters. We were put under pressure when Shadab and Shan formed a partnership only to lose both wickets in quick succession. We haven’t used the new ball well in the first six overs, but we finished well with it. Our next game will be played after we sit out, talk about our mistakes, and train hard to make up for those mistakes.

However, Pakistan is only responsible for its actions. Even though they showed superb skill with the ball, the openers failed for the second time in two games, and the middle-order, barring Masood, could not hang on for the win. Despite this, Zimbabwe’s pacers deserve great credit for their victory.
Looking at their economical rates, you can tell a lot about their bowling performance. With great maturity on his shoulders, Brad Evans closed the game with two crucial hits with his bat in his first game of the tournament. As they reach every corner of the stadium, the Zimbabwean boys appreciate the fans and friends present.
Coaches and players alike are all smiling. The images right after their win (some rolling on the ground, some jumping, and hollering in joy, some clueless about what just happened) are worth revisiting for a lifetime. That’s a real contest! Keep an eye out for the post-match presentation.
The last game’s last over was bowled by Nawaz, and today’s final over was bowled by Nawaz. That must be heartbreaking. Pakistan needed three from 3, with Nawaz on strike after scoring a boundary off the second ball of the final over.
His swing missed the 4th ball and got caught while trying to clear the infield with the 5th ball. It was too late for Shaheen Afridi to do a Naseem Shah of Asia Cup. There is a special place in this world for Raza. The throw barely reached the right end after he picked up the ball at long-on. Wasim would have been safe if he had thrown the ball toward the bowling end.
